Hello.
My name is Jeff King. I have been at this for 5 years now. That is just the business aspect of my modeling. I started building models and painting them when I was about 6 years old and have never stopped. I am now well into my forties so I am a seasoned veteran at wielding tools of the trade.
Just a little about me and how I operate.
In these times where customer service could more aptly be described as lack of service, you will find me to be someone who is fast on the reply. With detailed answers to questions. This is my job and my only job so I am here most days for many hours. A question asked should be followed up with an answer in short order.
My service is somewhat unique in that I offer you the opportunity to be involved with your project. I do not simply accept a request, do it and then ask for payment. You will be involved at all critical steps along the way.
I share progress on all projects by email with attached pictures of what I am doing. You get to comment and any issues if there even are some will be corrected as I work and before I ship.
My goal is 100% satisfaction and 0% returns.
I would describe my work as affordable. That in mind it is not cheap. The old saying you get what you pay for applies here. If I can't help you I may be able to suggest some other painters who can.
Go ahead and ask me a question to see what I can do for you!

You will almost never find engines for sale here. Why? Simple. All my work is done to order. There is no cookie cutter process which delivers engines the way I want to make them. You get what you want in the level of detail you desire. No more, no less.
From time to time I do something I feel like doing and will offer it here. Ready to buy and go.
I can do most anything or am willing to try at least once.
I offer custom design services to allow you to have something for your own personal railroad.
In addition to custom paint and detail I can kit-bash an engine not available off the shelf. I also use fine conversion products offered by these shops. Click on their names to see what they offer.
One of Grant's super kits. SD40-2F N scale
Kaslo SD50F conversion kit N scale
F40C engines made with JnJ shells
SD38-2 N scale using one of Mark's hoods
This list is not exclusive and if you know of anyone else offering fine conversions let me know. They are just shops I have dealt with or know of and recommend.
See my rates page for prices. There are simple to understand prices for most of what I do. For select projects I bill by the hour.
I am your go to guy for custom N scale projects.
If you are looking for a great deal on trains or supplies may I suggest checking out the place I use.
